Downstairs are two bedrooms (one with a double futon and upper bunk, one with a queen-size bed). The kitchen, dining, and family room overlook the main living area. Also on this floor is the master suite with a huge master bathroom and king-size bed.



There is a one-car garage and hot tub, perfect for stargazing. The Village is just the right distance away, about a 20-minute walk on nearby trails.

  Wonderful stay at Red Fir 9.
  Lovely clean home. The wildfire smoke and hot weather made us wish the home had AC but there were some fans so that helped a bit. Love the deck, games and decor. Location is prime with close walk to SHARC and village.

  First impression was a bit misleading as it is pretty dated inside furniture/decor ect but I tell
  You what my family had a blast!!!
  Well stocked kitchen- no Kuerig though that was disappointing...
  My family and extended family all have different coffee habits so all brought their own pods. Recommend at least upgrading to that...
  
  The master bed was a bit uncomfortable however the size of the bed made it ok.
  
  We truly enjoyed the 3 levels great of shenanigans to happen upstairs while
  The little ones took naps down below.
  
  Fireplace was my favorite! Fire starter stuff would be helpful but we just brought some 2 hour logs and then added wood for the pop

  We had a great stay at Red Fir 9 in Sunriver. The location was good- within easy bicycle riding distance of both the Village and River. The property was clean and well maintained. Any questions or concerns were promptly handled. The only surprise is it's close to some railroad tracks. There weren't too many trains, and few during the night, so it was OK.

It is true about the train, but I live about as close to the tracks and Red Fir 9 is and have come to enjoy the trains and I don't really hear them at night any more.   I would recommend— VERY walkable to SHARC and shops. Would maybe consider adding an air conditioner to your stay if coming mid- or late- summer but with included fans we figured out heat management for the place on second day. Great time overall!

  Overall rental experience was positive. We have rented in Sun River for over 30 years.One recommendation I have is that the homes without air conditioning, need to upgrade to air conditioning or provide some type of relief now that summers are much hotter than in the past. There are portable units which could be provided if they don't want to go to the cost of full home systems.

  The house has a nice open layout with the two levels of living space which was nice for people to be together but also have their own space. It had all we needed and very satisfied as a middle of the road vacation home. There are a couple of things that stood out in the not best way. The bunk beds are probably fine for kids but my adult kid ended up sleeping in the living room on the pull out couch as it was completely unreasonable for anyone over 50 lbs or 9 yrs old. The only other down side which some people may want to know about beforehand is that they are building a new house right next door. The first two mornings we were woken at 7 am with the serenade of heavy equipment. Surprisingly it wasn't nearly as disruptive as I had feared and it's on the opposite side of the house from the deck but still something that someone should be aware of. Also I would suggest some sort of shading for the top windows from the afternoon sun as it made it a bit harder to keep it cool on the hot days.

  House is in a great location, close to SHARC and the Village shops with nice bike trails all around. House could use some more items for cooking, patio door sticks, and cable TV has some network issues and will freeze from time to time. All in all though a comfortable, peaceful stay.

  The location of this charming rental was great. We could walk to the Vilkage and browse through the shops. It is also close to the SHARC swimming area. The rental had a inviting hot tub which the family loved. Our suggestions would be a scrubber for caring for pots and pans; and the sliding glass door could use some adjustments for better use. Overall we would come back!

  The home is as pictured. There is a train directly behind the home that passes several times early (6,7,8 am)in the morning. Besides that it is quiet, clean, and close to shopping.

It was so cozy and the floor to ceiling windows in the family room made a perfect place to hang out and watch movies and play games. We were lucky to see snow fall on Christmas morning but there wasn't enough to play in - so we'll be back! And I would be very happy to rent this place again.

  Home was generally very good, and Sunset Lodging was great, as usual.
  
  Pros - location close to SHARC (if it's open) and the village, very spacious inside of home, lots of deck space, quiet area (except for railroad), perfect for large family.
  
  Cons - couple of maintenance issues (which were fixed after reported), lots of cobwebs in high ceilings, home could use some general spit and polish, noise from nearby railroad (which was actually pretty cool, except at 2 a.m.).

  Our family enjoyed a lovely stay in this cozy home. It is a bit dark - no overhead lighting because of the home's era and there are no "extras" like bikes or a ping pong table but the location was terrific for us and the home served our needs. We would definitely stay here again.

  We had a great week at this house. It had everything we needed and more. Only downfall is no AC. But we lucked out with weather only in the 70s so it wasn't too bad. Lots of room for everyone to be together or apart. Great deck and we saw deer everyday walking through. Loved that it had the Sharc passes which saved our family of 6 a lot of money. Would definitely stay here again. The Sharc is right across the main road and The Village right now the street. Great Location!

  This three bedroom home worked well for our family of three adult couples and teenage son for a 6 night stay. It was well equipped, and comfortable. The furnishings and fixtures are older, (carpet in the large master bath) but that was okay with us. We enjoyed the spacious yard as there are no neighbors directly on either side. (one neighbor diagonally behind the house) The home has three levels with two bedrooms on the bottom level and a master on the top level near the kitchen and small living area. A main living area and deck are a few steps down. The train is VERY close but did not disturb our sleep. The hot tub was on a timer that we tried but could not figure out. We still used it and could have called maintenance if we really wanted to fix the problem. The best feature of Red Fir #9 is the location; up on a hill, away from the main road, yet an easy 5 minute walk to the Sharc swim center, and a 15 minute walk to the Village. We chose to cook dinner each night and the kitchen had all of the necessary supplies. We also used the home as a base for exploring Bend and water activities on the Deschutes River, such as tubing and SUP, stand up paddle boarding. We visited the Besson day use area near Sunriver for a quiet day away from the crowds. Sunset Lodging made the check-in and out process easy. I would recommend this home as a casual family getaway!
